How to Prepare for General Awareness Section for SSC exams


General Awareness Section plays a very important role for SSC Examination due to the fact that it is very scoring. Those who prepare thoroughly take less than a second to answer the questions during the examination.
General Awareness Section which comes in SSC CGL is different from than that of Banking and Insurance Examination. In major Banking and Insurance Exams, General Awareness Section is directed on Current Affairs whereas, in SSC CGL, more questions are generally based on Static General Knowledge. 

Topics required to be covered to prepare for General Awareness Section are as follows:
1.Indian History
2.Indian Polity
3.Geography
4.Indian Economy
5.Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology)
6.Miscellaneous

Generally, there are 5-6 questions from each topic mentioned above except the miscellaneous section. Among all the topics, General Science is likely to have 10-15 questions, with main focus on Biology.  
History Questions in SSC CGL 2017
History Topics are very vital for any examination, as it is the backbone of every subject. Questions from World History are rarely asked, therefore, it is advised not to waste time on World History, rather concentrate on Indian History.

Geography Questions in SSC CGL 2017
There are two parts of Geography from where the questions are asked most of the times, these are – 
a)Indian Geography,  and
b)Physical Geography. 
To cover the basics, study from NCERT Books of Class XI and XII. In case one needs more focus and knowledge, it is better to attempt a few mock tests and question banks to understand the pattern of questions asked in SSC Exams
.
Polity Questions in SSC CGL 2017
For Polity, Read NCERT Books of Class VIII to X , as it will mainly cover all the topics asked under the topic of Polity.

Economics Questions in SSC CGL 2017
The economics has two parts –
a.) Indian Economy and 
b.)Economics. 

Indian Economy deals with the study of Indian Economics system and Economics. It is further divided into two topics these are:
a) Macroeconomics and
b) Microeconomics. 
There are few complex and confused topics which one should only prepare from trusted sources. 
The Miscellaneous Section usually contain topics like Current affairs, Computer Knowledge, Technology, Books and Authors, Sports, Persons and Places in News, Abbreviations, etc.
Very few questions are asked on Current Affairs, it is better not to dedicate much time on it.

Let us hope that the aspirants of SSC Exams get the better idea about the topics to be studied for General Awareness section.  Make an effective study plan accordingly and focus on the key topics to attempt this section effectively.
